Well was wondering if a little ASII came out of the sides of the core would my CPU be ok? I ain't talking running down the side of the heatsink(didnt out that much just enought to cover the core). Also I just bought the Taisol 760 with copper core and was wondering is the clip suppost to be real stiff? I know the one of this one is. If I didnt have a copper shim I am sure the core would be cracked right now.

I have a Taisol CGK74092 (I think that's it) on my Athlon MP 1600 with a lil ASII in between. I've been running it since Christmas, with no problems to date. This replace an Athlon 1.4GHz T-bird and retail heatsink (Taisol as well?) with ASII. The temp difference is about -30F.

Several months ago, i used the CGK760092 exclusively. The clip is very stiff, and I didn't use a shim. You want to apply a thin coat of ASII. If some creeps over the side of the core you will be fine.

I installed a Taisol CGK760092 heatsink on my Epox and yes the clips are very stiff however you don`t need shims ,I just used the old screwdriver trick to get the clip installed.

Should not be a problem with the excess ASII as long as it is contained as you have described it.

And the clip is really stiff; but I feel good about it.
