the lenses i have are supposed to be used for 3 months, yet i've probably had this pair on for at least 8 months, with no real sign of wear. the first contacts i ever purchased (maybe 8 years ago) would feel sh!tty after about 3-4 months of use, now they still feel new 8 months later. i haven't changed the type of lenses in 3 years - the only thing i can think i've changed (in the past few years) is the fact that i stopped doing weekly protein removal and instead started buying the more expensive solution that has daily protein treatments. i've also stopped washing my lenses daily because my solution takes care of this also. i'm thinking that the daily cleaning and the weekly protein treatments caused more wear and tear than the new solution-based treatments. if so, i'd recommend other extended wear users to spend the extra $2 on the more expensive solution - it'll cut your contacts purchases by ~70%. i've used my current pair ~65% longer than i should have, and they're still going strong.
