Anyone here use bootvis? Please help.

My computer takes about 5 minutes to boot up. I ran bootvis and it gave me a bin file. When I open the bin file in bootvis I not sure what the file means. All I see is a bunch of graphs and stuff.
If someone is familiar with bootvis would you mind looking at the bin file for me and tell me if it caught anything? I'll email it to you.

I used bootvis a while back and I don't recall needing to open any file it generated. It just did its thing, rebooted and did more stuff and that's it. I don't really remember any specifics if there were any.

bootvis jacked up my win2k installation once. could have been operator error, but i didn't want to play with it after that.

Bootvis is just for XP, was this a dualboot setup that got hosed?

You don't need to in order to use bootvis, just select Trace\Optimize System and select a few reboots so it gets a good snapshot.

like bsobel said, just let it trace a few times (about 5 is good) so it can figure out what happens when you boot up. Then run the optimize feature and it will speed things up for you.

The graphs just show you what is being loaded at which times. The bottom bar of the graph is Time (seconds), so you can look at it and see that, for example, it took 10 seconds to load BIOS. I am not smart enough to anything more than look at it and say, damn, that's slow. It helps you see WHERE the problem is, so if you know what your doing, you can try to speed it up.
