Anyone here try or use "The Perfect Pushup"

GoingUp

Lifer
Just wondering how well you all like it. I've been doing a lot more pull ups on my "Iron Gym" pullup bar lately and been trying to work in more push ups as well. I see the commercials on TV all the time and was wondering if any of you have noticed a difference. Are they really worth the $40 or so they charge for them?

Thanks 🙂

I used it once and became so fuckin sore that I literally couldnt touch my face with my hands. Never again 🙂

LOL. So are they that effective? Or did you do that many?

He's just that much of a bitch

I would like to see how half the claims of the perfect push-up comercial are actually validated. "The handles rotate, so it works your abs!" Umm, yeah, how does it work you abs any more then a regular push-up?

I've never used it, but I also have never used the easy putty applying cornering device (Worth $1000, yours for just $19.99, and if you order now, we'll throw in 2 pieces of $0.10 plastic that could easily double that figure!). My advice is don't waste your money, master a normal push-up, and if you are desperate for a better push-up, get a backpack and put a book in it.

That's the only claim that is exaggerated, everything else they are definitely spot on.

It works far more muscles than regular pushups, and whatever your max of normal pushups, you're likely only going to hit half that with the perfect pushup.

I love it, but haven't been using them at all recently. If you stick to the 21 day routine, exactly as written, it's not hard to imagine you'll double your number of pushups.

If you do them perfectly, you can feel it in your abs, but on its own it won't do much in the way of giving you a 6-pack. But if you keep at it, say do the 21 day routine, take a week off, rinse and repeat for awhile, you'll definitely get toned all over your upper body.

They are far more effective than regular pushups. Regular pushups don't really do much for you, other than help you do more pushups, and tone up your pecs and upper shoulders.

But adding mass, like every other perfect workout routine, requires far more effort than simply hitting up the gym every day (which btw, is the fast track to pain... and is why the 21 day routine is pushups one day, break the next day, repeating and increasing in effort until the end).

The handles alone are great, but half of the greatness to the product is the great routine they made.

I think it's kind of stupid, but that's just my opinion.

When I have to do pushups for my fitness test, I won't be using the perfect push up system. If I want to target other muscles, I'll use different techniques.

If I want my pushups to be more difficult, I'll raise my feet, not my hands.

But I guess it depends on what you want.

Wow I'm sold how much does this cost again?

Interesting that people say it actually works. How does the rotation work? Do you need to do it on a hard surface or can you do it on carpet?

I have an iron gym as well and use it to facilitate my pushups. The way I see it you would want to use freeweights to see any real development anyway, so I just use pushups to "finish off" my main workouts.

They suck. They put a ton of pressure just on your wrists and it's pretty uncomfortable and trying to rotate them doesn't work too well. Pass

I have a pair and really like them. They definitely work more muscles and are way harder than normal pushups. I have been doing the two minute drills that are in the workout plan for about 2 months now and have more than doubled my max using the perfect pushup. As others have stated they are not the perfect ab exercise, but I'm sure it helps strengthen your core to some extent.

I have used mine on carpet with no problems.

It seemed to be very effective, but coupled with the fact that I haven't done pushups for years and did it to absolute failure, I believe the fail lies upon me.

And gorcorps... that's not what your sweet old lady said the other night. Call her if you want, but with my big ol' sack in her mouth, all she'll be able to say for the moment is "snrfgagsnrf". 🙂

I have a pair as well, and really really dig them. They make the pushup a lot more efficient. The workout routine that comes with it is actually pretty fun.
I combine burpies with them, and get absolutely winded/owned after 10 descending sets. I think they are truly a worthy investment for anyone who just wants to get a quick tone while watching TV.

They rotate easily, but they do strain the wrists a little sometimes.
