Anyone here take Levaquin (antibiotic) and come out okay afterwards?

I took Levaquin for pneumonia but noticed how much side effects it was giving me. I addeded to that Internet research and realized how many people ended up suffering after taking Levaquin. Has anyone here successfully taken Levaquin and lived okay after taking it? It seems very dangerous and I am very scared that the side effects will start to come up in about a week after discontinuing. It's just disease after sickness. When will it stop? :(

Sorry for leaving out the vital portions of the post.

I did consult my doctor and he did say to stop taking it.

I stopped taking it at day 5.

The main reason I am on here asking for any advice is I've seen so many damn message boards filled with horror stories. It's quite scary.

you should never just stop taking an antibiotic, if you're worried about the side effects, contact your doctor. or post about it on ATOT, o wait.

Nope, that shit killed me. Seriously, I'm no longer alive because of Levaquinenenene...or whatever the fuck it's called.

I died, too. Stop taking it now 'cause clearly the virus isn't effected. An antibiotic won't even touch those tiny bacteria, they're too small.

I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one murdered by that foul drug :(

Yup, everyone who takes it dies. Clearly, your doctor has diagnosed you as being an asshole, and his prescription is intended to help the rest of society.

Man I took it and then I came up behind this lady and made some thrusting motions, and she didn't feel anything.

SO I decided to switch things up and even yelled "HOO HAH! HOO HAH!"

Nothing :(

I think that's the stuff CasioTech was on.

Seriously though you would trust some random internet site over your actual doctor? Talk to him/her and ask about the side effects.

I recently took 1 gram (or 4 250 mg pills) of Zithromax, for undisclosed reasons and live to tell about it. Besides the uneasy feelings and runny number 2s, all is well. I hope.

Yea some of those antibiotics affect your nervous system. Some people are nearly suicidal after taking them.

This is true. I've seen it for pretty much anything. I guess I will try not to worry so much. Although the people that report such incidents are so high. You have to wonder are they all truly affected by this drug or are they just crazy? If so, do we really have that many crazy people roaming free?

I've taken Levaquin about 2-3 times a year for the last several years. I've only had problems twice. The first time I ever had it, I didn't want my boyfriend to touch me, not even hug me or anything. Oddest reaction I've had to a drug to date. The second time I was given it intravenously and I had a reaction at the IV site. That's it. But meds can have some oddball effects on people. Keep a close eye on yourself and in contact with your doc.

Taken it a bunch. No problems other than this:

I will say it hurt my tendons / ligaments / joints. I had to switch my workouts from treadmill to elliptical machine, and had to tone them down from 45-60 minutes down to 20-30 minutes. Intensity had to go down too. My knees and ankles just hurt really bad afterwards.

After i was done with the Levaquin, took about a week to get back to normal. No issues after that.
