You gotta stay with it. Dont stop and occasionally do it or you wont see results

I use micronized creatine by AST-SS. Most pharmaceutical grade creatine is the same i think.

I read an article that followed loaders and non-loaders, at the start the loaders had the advantage but after 3 months they were at identical %gains in their programs.

So is it worth loading and the 'potential' even if unproven effects on your organs of the loading cycle? I don't bother with the loading cycle anymore FWIW

1. Use a teaspoon.

2. Drink a lot of water. The reason why creatine makes you appear to bulk up, is because it allows more water to saturate your muscles, which make your muscles appear bigger. If you don't have a high water intake, the creatine won't have as much of an effect. Simple logic there :)

3. The loading phase is crap. After a period of time, you'll have just as much creatine in your blood whether you load or not. The loading phase is a marketing gimick. I'd take half of the loading phase for 5 days, then stick with 5grams a day. Remember to cylce off and on. That's very important.

Any one that has the Creapure logo on it. I used to always use Prolab. Super cheap, pure, and very effective.

Any lean muscle you gain will not go away. Speaking from personal experience.

To answer you question directly - 5g = 1 rounded teaspoon.

First 5 days --- take 4-5g 3x a day - make sure 1 is AFTER your workout.
Next 30-35 days --- take 3g 2x a day - 1 in the morning and one AFTER your workout

For best results take it with something like grape or cranberry juice, not orange juice though.

For SUPER results take it after you workout with 3-4 tablespoons of maltodextrin and 3 tablespoons of dextrose (corn sugar). AFter you workout your muscles are super absorbant. The simple carbs like malto/dex will help "carry" the creatine into your muscles. Believe me, if you drink water during this time you will gain approx 7-10lbs in less than 2 weeks.

I stopped taking it after many cycles b/c eventually it started to pinch off feeling in my hands, kind of like when your arm/hand falls asleep. I think the water/muscle pinched my arteries or nerves or something.

For one; don't load. I guess you CAN; if you buy the cheap creatine but it's a waste of time.

Two: DON'T go with Grape Juice. It's not what many, misimformed, think it's cracked up to be. The sugars in grape juice are still not simple enough to do the best job possible. And really, isn't this what you want? The BEST job possible? Never heard of going with cranberry; although it would have some validity since cranberry juice is LOADED with sugar.

My uber-creatine mix (and cheap as hell). I use this post-workout:

25 grams Dextrose (pick up at a local brewing supply place)
25 grams Malto-Dextrin (same)
25 grams Whey protein (there have been studies that taking too much protein right after working out is not nearly as effective, plus use Whey because it is digested the quickest)
5-10 grams Creatine (Prolab Creatine: 1000 grams for $20. Can't beat that!)

i've taken it on & off for years with no problems
shortly after workouts (mixed with a protein shake).

in large quantities you may have intestinal problems
or muscle cramps.

i usually get 2500 grams at a time from here.

Yes, you can't emphasize #2 enough. Drink as much water as you possibly can; and then drink more. One gallon minimum a day; depending on body size.

I am taking 5 grams 1 hr before workout, and 5-10 grams RIGHT after. I have used the NDS Evolve, and the generic stuff from Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart brand is CHEAP ($14 for 2 lbs), 5 grams/scoop (included in the canister), so 1 scoop before workout, and two after. The Evolve is more expensive, but 10 grams per scoop.

I really don't notice much of a difference between the two, but I do notice it when I don't use it. It feels like there is greater/faster recovery between sets, so you can do more sets/reps than without.

No side effects for me whatsoever. I do drink 2-3 liters of water daily, though.
