A few weeks ago I broke out the ole soldering gun and decided to build a TV antenna since just moving and the cable company is taking thier sweet a@@ time in coming out.
I started with 6 metal clothes hangers. I untwisted them at the top, then cutting and bending as needed. Now the hard part was getting the solder to mold to the hangers, I think because they are brass plated? Anyway, after an hour or so I was all done. I then took a 25' peice of Coax and soldered the main wire to the frame of the antenna being sure not to touch the outter coax to the frame.
I then took a Anchor screw and mounted the antenna on my back patio under the rim of the roof.
Man I gotta tell ya...it works!!! Hell im thinking about calling the cable company and telling them to forget it!
But... Living without ESPN and DC will be rough.
Anyway, anyone know a cool Soldering project I can give a go...this is fun!
