Programming section doesn't get much activity. I am curious if anyone here is skilled at web design. Me and another AT'er need a skilled person for a project we are about to start.

It's just a hobby, I've never really felt like turning pro. Plus there are too many people who consider themselves 'web designers' that undercut like crazy. Not worth it imo.

a 12 yo with FrontPage is considered a webdesigner today...far from it in my opinion.

I've been doing graphic design and web design for years. I think the majority of web designers out there really don't know anything about design. However, when you find a GOOD web designer, they are worth every penny.

I can agree with that. Also there is a lot to be said about a target audience. Most of my programming and design is focused on the baby boomers and older. My websites may look somewhat dated but the customers write in how great it was to work with it.

It's amazing though how so many, even in the IT/IS field, think 'webpages' are something anyone can do.
