I played in an independant league, since most schools in nyc don't have football teams. Corner/Safety, along with a bunch of d-line. I stopped playing, since I stopped growing. I loved it. I was so sad afterwards.

Don't join up with any local teams. They all play dirty & just use this as a springboard to try & get a walk-on for a university or indoor/nfl gig. You're not making any money & the injuries are frequent. If clotheslining the opposing teams' tiny halfback will get the guy noticed, he's going to do it. If the guy feels he can't make the play legitly, he's going to cut your knees out. You have to be constantly watching yourself out there. It's just not worth it.

ive been playing since 6th grade (now a freshman) and it something that i really needed to get in shape since i was a fatass. It and trying wrestling helped me lose 50lbs or so from 225 to about 175-180 but now since i goto one of the best high schools in oregon its getting really annoying with how much stuff we are supposed to do outside of the season. The season basicly lasts all but 2 weeks out of the year with weight training but its still something to do and it keeps me in good shape which is good. Oh and i play left tackle mainly and some noise guard.

I played one year and absolutely hated it. I started wrestling in 7th grade and by 10th grade decided to try football for once. I was pretty small (5'8", 140 lbs.) but could run a 40 in about 4.3-4.4 seconds. Because of my speed, they put me at wide receiver, which really sucked for me. I would have loved to play corner or even just special teams or do kick returns, but they kept me a wide receiver. I got sick of all the team bull$hit too. Lose a game and the QB blames to RB, the line blames the QB, the defense blames the corners, etc. I stuck it out and went on to be very successful wrestling that year and every year after that. At least in wrestling, you can only blame yourself for losing.
