I've been looking at the Vizio 42" LCD tv at my local Sam's Club and the reviews i've seen online look pretty decent. The tv is $899 and Sam's currently has unlimited return policy. We have one at work here and it looks great.

Just wanted to get advice from other Vizio owners. :)

Eh, go to FatWallet, or maybe the hot deals forum here. I just saw a 42" 1080p set on there for a lil under 1000.

I have one. GV42L, 720p set. It's nice, I picked it because at the time it was the best value and quality. Picture quality, especially with SD signals was better than that of the other "cheap" sets, though Sony, Toshiba and some others were better all around. I preferred it far more than any Samsung set for sure. There are some glaring deficiencies though, but it's too late for me to bother with it now.

If I were to do it again, with prices where they're at today I would spend a few more dollars on a better set. If your crunched for cash, Vizio is definitely the way to go though.

My wife and I got a 42" Vizio plasma a couple years ago. We love it. I think it looks great, despite it's 1024x768 native. I can say with certainty that it absolutely kills my friend's Panasonic Plasma (also 1024x768 native...I think), especially with SD broadcasts.

BIL got a 1080p Vizio LCD from Costco a month ago and is also loving his.

I think Vizio puts out some pretty good quality/value products.

The HD picture quality is pretty damn good for the price. You're going to be limited on the # of HDMI inputs with a vizio unit. You could always get a receiver that does HDMI or a switcher if that becomes an issue. These TVs are really light so mounting them might be a little easier than another set.

I don't own one but my roommate has a 50" Vizio and I've installed these in the past.
