Anyone here on Vyvanse? (Adult ADHD)

My doc switched me from Adderall to Stattera a few months back, didn't like Strattera at all, felt like I was in a cloud all day. Adderall worked fantastic but since I would take it twice a day, I would feel it wearing off, also affected my sleep somewhat though i got used to it.

So just recently he switched me to Vyvanse, been talking it two days now and while I love how even it makes me feel, no more highs and lows, I get a mild headache all day while on it.

Anyone here on Vyvanse? Did the headaches go away after awhile of using it? Already put in a call to the Doc, but he usually doesn't call me back for a day or two, so I figured I would ask here. Adderall XR is an option, but with the HSA starting in the spring, $200/mo is a bit much.

EDIT: Switched to Focalin XR (see update below)

You have ADHD? Which is a contested condition, or bi-polar disorder?

ADHD, the highs and lows I was referring to was that I could feel it wearing off after 6 hours almost making me sleepy. Vyvance is like an extended release, keeps it steady all day.

Its not a contested condition. The standards by which it is diagnosed have been contested.

What happen? I want to feel like I'm in clouds. How can I get some of this drug?

Eh? It wasn't a good feeling. Like being in a Fog all day.

Strattera was horrible for me - it made me grouchy and have terrible sexual side effects.

I'm on old fashioned ritalin now - what advantage does vyvance have over that?

my doctor has me on Concerta 36mg

Has it been working well? My doc mentioned Concerta as well, but we decided to try Vyvance first.

It just sounds so cool. Like everything is mysterious and blurred.

According to my Doc, Vyvanse is the most stable (it slowly ramps up in your system and keeps an even amount in your system all day, apparently lasts the longest as well). So far its been good, except for the headaches.

Yes, it has been working well. My concentration has gotten better at work, in meetings, at client offices, and in my grad courses. I haven't really noticed any side effects either.

It was explained to me that Concerta was a good because it's time released through the day.

No, I didn't like it at all. Its not that things were mysterious, it was just like I hadn't gotten much sleep at all. I was constantly asking people to repeat themselves cause I didn't understand them the first time. Also, my memory went to shit on it. My wife would ask me to do two things and within 30 minutes, I would forget both of them.

That's kind of how I felt before I started taking medication.

Same here, but Strattera amplified it by 10. I was like a walking idiot.

Weird. That's what I do on a daily basis and I don't do any drugs.

Never been on it, was diagnosed ADD, have never taken meds for it, but I probably should....

There is no ADD classification anymore. Just different levels of ADHD.

Just bumping my horribly old thread (almost 2.5 years old) 🙂

I went off the meds for a few years and was doing halfway ok without them, but noticed my symptoms ramped up pretty high once i started my new job and had a constant stream of information flowing at me all day long. Been there almost 2 years now and while i've moved up quickly, the ADHD is def. holding me back from my potential. Having to ask people to repeat their questions 2-3 times since my mind wandered is getting old for me, and for them.

Anyway, so i'm back trying new meds again. Just started on Focalin XR, works well so far except I slept all of 2 hours last night, my mind wasnt wandering like it usually does as I go to bed, it just never shut off.
