Anyone here NOT use AA when gaming?

I see a lot of people here are adamant about AA, but for me i've never really been bothered about jaggies at a 1920X1200 resolution. If I have to run a game at 1024X768 then I usually turn on AA, but when running at my native res it's really a non-issue for me. Anyone else feel the same way?

I tend to notice jaggies very readily, even at my native res of 1680 x 1050. WUXGA might be different, but I tend to turn on 2x if I can afford the performance hit and if I notice jaggies too much.

I can jaggies just fine @ 2560x1600, so when possible i will certainly use AA.

Of course, for all newer games, that means no AA, since my GTX can't hack it...:(

I try using it when possible, but with these newer games coming out taking me down to 1280x960 just to run the game smoothly...I kinda can't.

I run 1920x1200 too. I run with AA on when I can. IF I can't I don't its not a huge issue. With Crysis I can't even run 1920x1200 so I go with 1680x1050 again with no AA. So while I can see jaggies at 1920x1200 its not as bothersome as it usta be back when I ran 1280x960 years ago.

I guess it also depends on the resolution and size of your monitor. If you run 1920x1200 on a 24" without AA it might not be that bad but if it's a 30" you'll start seeing it more.

I never really use AA at 1440x900, not a big deal IMO.

I run whatever AA my graphics card can afford to run... but I usually play older games, so this usually means either 4x or 16x or whatever's max. In newer games I turn it off, but only if it gives a performance benefit.

depends on the game - some aren't jaggie at 1920*1200 but others are a little IMO

Most of the time if anything I like to run a form of Transparency AA as that does seem to improve certain kinds of graphics or 2xAA if I can (even my GTX feels the pain now...) or it needs it

but I must confess that on some games I feel the need to crank it all up even if I don't notice a difference (other side of the coin to having a GTX)

I play at 1920x1200 also, and don't use AA, but the only reason i leave it off now is because my card can't do 1920x1200 and AA at the same time. Back on my old 17" I had AA on everything.

Finely detailed objects still show lots of jaggies at high resolutions. A little bit of Transparency AA can usually handle those well enough.

at 1920x1200...i dont really care, unless its so bad. i usually have 2x/4xAA set by default anyway.

Is it best to enable AA in game or in windows (or both)? I thought I read somewhere to set it to ff in the game but set it to 2x or 4x in control panel in windows.

i normally dont care. I only saw one game ever that actually NEEDED AA as far as I was concerned (horrible juggedness). But other then that I leave it off, only to be turned on if I am already getting 60fps and maxed everything else...

It is definitely the absolute lowest priority on my "looks" department. Which is good since it is also the heaviest of all settings.

My best resolution is 1920x1440 and I can spot jagged edges there like a sore thumb; even 4xAA isn't enough sometimes, especially in OpenGL games where TrAA doesn't function.

The only time I don't run AA is when I physically can't (e.g. Stalker).

Nope. Always 4xAA @ 1280x1024. But Crysis changed that... :( Oh well, at least was able to get by pretty nicely at hacked Very High settings on an 8800GTS 320MB in XP (had to engage Medium shaders in the ice levels though).

I never use AA. I've never had a card that could run the latest games at max settings, max res, and still do AA. Currently I've got an 8800GTS and it seems to do high settings fine at 1680x1050, but only without AA. :(

Anyone who does not use AA commits grave sin and is destined for not just one, but two eternities in hell.

I run AA when I can at 1920, but its one of the first eye-candy options to go along with shadows. If given the choice between 1920 vs. 1280 w/ AA I'd take no AA without hesitation.
