I found 2 softwares, 1 has a trial and 1 doesn't. I hate singing but my friends don't so I figured I'd looking for a goof program for me to make CD+G files out of my cd's and mp3's. I'm running the Karaoke CD+G pro trial, it seems okay but a bit amateurish looking and costs $159, which I can't justify dropping so my idiot friends can sing when drunk.

I tried a few karaoke programs but there was just too much work to get just one song going. You have to find the lyrics and then sync it to the music. On many songs you can't remove the main vocals entirely so you're going to hear a bit of that as well.

Amazon + iTunes has a pretty decent selection of Karaoke tracks without the vocals, if anyone reads this thread and is interested in the same thing, for a PC LRC's the way to go. I downloaded VividLyrics and like it. I don't know how it compares to other LRC programs but it seems pretty easy to use. Yeah to get a song right's gonna be pretty time consuming. but hell if I wasn't messing with this I'd just be farting around on ATOT.

While I couldn't find one, I thought there should be at least a couple groups out there that create and exchange LRC files. If I can't find one I'm going to start one up. Karaoke with drunk friends is loads of fun.

CD+G I remember those :D Back in the 1990's my father was a DJ + Karaoke person (Never did have his own business though:'() I remember he had a Pioneer deck that played the discs and had a composite output to the TV that he had to lug around. I also remember around the same time there was a Laser Disc version it played the video of the song and had lyrics on the screen (That was out of his price range though:wub:) I am surprised since the invent of DVD I never saw a DVD based karaoke system with the same effect that CD+G had in the karaoke business
Anyway good luck with your Hunt for CD+G Software
