Anyone here looking forward to Battlefield Vietnam?

I most definately am.

Oh yeah, and I hope my system can handle it as well... I have an XP1900+ and a Radeon 9700 Pro AIW, 512mb PC2100... That might be pushing it. I might wanna jump up to a Barton.

Yeah, if it's anywhere as near as good as BF1942, i'll be all over it 🙂

I saw the line "it is very CPU limited"...looks like i will be upgrading to a A643000+ sometime soon then 😉

Confused

I was mad when it didn't come out before Xmas, like originally planned. Now, I need a new video card to play it. That would be fine, but my system is running smooth and quiet, so I really don't feel like upgrading until I have to.

I'll try it on my DX8 (AIW 8500DV) card. I've played BF, Secret Weapons, and mostly the DC mod.

I've been waiting for a kick ass Vietnam War game for a while now. I'll be all over this when it's released.

Too much tv for you dumba$$.

I look forward to the game. They better have an option to be a door gunner on a gunship!

No, your ignorance hurt my brain.
Let me guess, you are sub 30 years old, you don't like history, and think that everyone who fought in Vietnam was high all the time?

There were drugs being used, but mostly booze.

You put a bunch of guys in their teens and early twenties into a situation like that against their will (for the most part) and what do you expect to happen? Ad to that they prevalence of weed and heroin etc. and you end up with users.

I'm sure all you ppl w/ 9600's will be fine. Just might not beable to run @ 1600x1200, but the game will be amazing regardless.

Is there any word as to if it is going to be optomized for ATI or Nvidia cards?

Opium use was rampant in Vietnam.

It's true, I saw it in Platoon.

And Oliver Stone served in Vietnam too...unlike the majority of pimple faced posers here who support that war.

They moved the thread on me...
Just because you saw something in a movie does not make it true. Go read We Were Soldiers Once and Young. The movie is good, but the book is better. Notice drug usage does not come up. That is because it was not rampant. Talk to some veterans who served in the front line. You will be amazed at what you can learn from them, and from the sacrifices they made.
I hope you can grow past your ignorance.

Who really cares if they did opium. This forum is asking if anyone is looking forward to BF Viet not who is looking forward to opium breaks. was the arse reamin' neccessary?
yea im looking forward to the game. I believe it will use punk buster now. Still up in the air whether it will have dense jungle areas. I'm sure they're will be some maps with dense in it though, someone will create that map on their own.
Napalm's an added plus. Gona need another BF tracking site for that one!

Lets not be in denial here. I think we both know that your system will handle the game just fine, what you need is an excuse to upgrade. And so do I. And BF Vietnam is as good an excuse as any, so I say let the upgrading begin.

I am extactic about this game i simply can not wait, i think im going to upgrade my video card..........to a 9800 pro

I'm not looking forward to the way it's going to own my system. (P4 2.4C, 1GB RAM, etc) It'l take a lot to out-do desert combat, and a lot less bugs to convince me to buy it. LAN gaming BF1942 will last at least another year...
