I'm looking to move down there and i'm having a hard time finding a job...any help? Is that why the housing is so cheap down there?

How is the crime rate?

 
Port St Lucie is about 1 hour or so from anything. Most I know living there commute 2 hours+ a day or more.

It's up and coming but at the same time still dealing with tons of crime and gangs (most of our 'growhouses' are busted there).

Housing is cheap, but it's hard to find a good neighborhood that's still close to convenience.

In this economy there are TONS of better deals in the West Palm Beach area with less isolation and crime.

Hell there are BRAND NEW HOMES selling for $200k here that were over $450-500k early last year.
