Just wanted to see if anyone likes "The Darkness" out there. I think there a great band with awesome guitar solo's and riff's plus i gotta smile everytime there's singing
I got the CD yesterday and love it! And it's not puss rock. There's nothing puss about "Get your hands off of my woman, motherf***er!" It has a Spinal Tap quality to it. It's more vintage 70's than "hair band" 80's. And if you don't like good 70's rock, there's something wrong with you.
English is a euphemism for gay.Originally posted by: kage69

So I guess all the female-esque high octaves and wailing is really just an English way of acting badass? The band sounds so gay it hurts.
I know 70s rock. 70s rock is a good friend of mine. This, sir, is no 70s rock.

I think kids today are sick of the serious political attitudes of bands like Pearl Jam and Coldplay, and this is their chance to have fun with music like we did in the 80's. Too bad the kids of the 90's missed out. </thinking too much about music>"Everyone's too uptight these days," reckons Frankie. "I hate the arrogance of bands who think their petty emotions are interesting. If you look at bands from 25 years ago, people have smiles on their faces. We're bringing a bit of that back."

Musically - I don't really like their album ("permission to land") that much, but I have to admit I am totally addicted to "i believe in a thing called love". Awesome song.
And I agree, there is no way in hell these guys are taking themselves seriously; stop being so uptight and have some fun when you listen to them. It's so tongue-in-cheek that I can't believe that someone would think the band is being serious. Fun/spoofy music is awesome.
And damn is that video cheesy (in a great way)![]()
