I'm not a big fan of mainstream "techno" such as DJ Sammy, Alice Deejay, and Darude.
Me... i'm a big trance fan. Mostly prefer progressive, or prog house. The crappy radio stations always play crappy music imo.

Finally, someone with a decent reply. There's been alot of cheesy techno being mentioned, but for the true connoiseurs, I would more or less take Crystal Meth, Baton and Lowell, Chemical Brothers, John Digweed, Airwave, Stanton Warriors, anything by Theivery Music Corporation, Global Underworld, etc...

True that. From what I've seen, a lot of people tend to equate "techno" and "electronic" with the stereotypical cheesy trance music like Oakenfold and Van Dyk. Don't get me wrong, I love that stuff, but there's a time and a place for it... and I find it tends to get boring after far fewer listens than most decent electronic stuff.

Darude - Sandstorm is the most irritating song known to man.

Albums I recommend if you're looking for some better stuff:

The Avalanches - Since I Left You
Aphex Twin - 26 Mixes For Cash
The Future Sound of London - Dead Cities
The Orb - UF Orb
Orbital - The Middle of Nowhere
Orbital - In Sides

There's a lot more out there than epic trance :p
