I had never heard of fried pickles before last year...tasty. 🙂

And you know who likes pickles? Alton Brown 😀 He has a whole episode dedicated to making your own and he mentions it occasionally in other segments as well (beets, for instance).

are you watching it too now? the pickle episode is on now!!!! FoodNetwork!

Dills are great, I do my own hot pickled vegetables too. (carrots, celery, pepperoncinis, asparagus, mushrooms, etc) Stay away from pickled beets though, they're not any better than regular beets.

Dill, bread & butter?

I used to know this guy in college that would buy huge jars of pickles. When he finished the pickles, he would pour the "juice" into a pint glass and drink it while watching TV.

That stuff burns my throat.

I really like the Dill Midgets (or Gherkins).
But the best pickle I've ever eaten are home-made "Brine" pickles, tiny little gherkins simply placed in salt water. MMMMMMM!

I should take a pic of my favourite brand of pickles. Sour-sweet, break when bitten. Awesome taste and texture. Only problem is, sometimes you have yellowish-whitish ones, but they taste the same.

sweet pickles FTW!

they used to have steak and ale by me, and in addition to amazingly awesome bread/butter -- they had this massive pickle barrel at the salad bar. it was so good 🙁 i miss it.
