How did you manage to get periodontal disease at the age of 23? 0.0

You thought about getting gum graft?

Dentists started noting my gum recession at around 10. I have ehlers-danlos syndrome, which one of the symptoms is basically all around shitty teeth (including early periodontal disease). I had 6 cavities last visit despite never skipping brushing my teeth : (

SO what have you been doing to keep the recession at bay?

I floss twice a day, and after meals. Brush twice. Seems to be working for me. I keep flossers in my car so I can floss after lunch or snacks. I really don't like having food stuck in my teeth.

No point flossing in the morning, the point of flossing is removing plaque, food and other junk that accumulates between teeth. Not much of that will happen overnight (plaque a bit, yes, but not much). Just do it at night.

I really need to get in the habit of flossing every day though. I just find it's such a long and tedious chore, I only end up doing it maybe once a week, and I pay for it each dentist visit as I usually have a cavity somewhere.

I floss at night only. I do use Listerine, but no matter what mouthwash you use, it isn't a substitute for flossing.

Brush properly and floss and or mouth wash semi-regularly. There's a limit to how much I can affect it since it's just a weak area for me.

I have a big problem with floss getting sheared apart because my teeth are very close together (another sign of EDS T.T) so it's a huge pain.

use plaque removers. brushing doesn't get a lot of the crap that forms at the gum line. alsi, I do plaque remover, floss, rinse, and then brush. I only floss like twice a week though, but use the plaque removers and rinse every night before brushing.

You use mouthwash in the morning, I hope.

I brush in morning, and brush I'd say 75% of the time in evening (sometimes I forget or fall asleep by accident). No mouthwash or floss.

I'm 30 and haven't gotten any cavities yet. I also don't eat sugary foods, drink soda, or eat/drink much of anything with HFCS in it.

Well, blackdogdeek does not brush in the morning and I'm wondering how he's able to go the day with morning breath without brushing or at least using mouthwash.

I'd be surprised if people don't have coffee breath first thing in the morning anyway.
