go see a shrink.

most people, when reading a list of symptoms, start to think they have the disorder that they're reading about. for a week in Pysch 101, I thought I was sociopathic. turns out I was just having a bad week 😉

I spent almost 6yrs on Paxil... It took me 8months to come off. I tried stopping cold once, but ended up in the ER with convulsions.

Don't take meds if you don't have to... counselling for a start maybe? If yuo are close to your parents, talk to them, they might help with the $$$.

 My friend has been on lexapro for as long as i have known him. Thats 7 years now?

Actually, Lexapro hasn't been on the market that long. Chances are, your friend was on Celexa - then, was switched over to Lex.

I have a few people close to me who I believe suffers from it. Bi-polar is different than just being depressed, in that the person experiences episodes of mania (eg. hypomania where person has lots of energy, pressured speech, very irritable, irrational, impulsive).

You need to go see a doctor so you can get referred to someone who can make the right diagnosis.

The fact that you have recognized that you have a problem and need help is a good sign. Few of the people I know have refused to admit they have a problem.
