i saw that they had the refurb oem 8500's ($139 shipped) in stock last night. wanted to get one. but someone in the video forums pointed out that the retail 8500 were $37 more ($176 shipped). even though the difference in price is not that big... i sure would like to keep the extra $37. has anyone had problems with their newegg refurbs? reason i ask is becuz the retail will come with a full waranty, where as the oem refurb will only come with a 30 day warranty. do you think the oem 8500 refurb is a good buy at $139?

I had a refurb motherboard from Newegg that lasted about 20 seconds :Q
They were really cool about the refund though. I had placed another order and they took my credit off of the new order!

It looks like they're out of both of those 8500's now. In any case, to me, it would be worth the extra $37 just to get the cables and DVI/VGA adapter. Even if I never used them ;)

thanx dude.. thats all i needed to know. being a broke a$$ mofo... i dun want to risk getting a broke video card and having to pay shipping back. i will stick to a retail card. faster, better warranty, and more accessories (including the CS game :))...

Oh yeah, they reimburse you for shipping on DOA parts. After you've sent it back, you just call and tell them how much shipping was.

I saw that HalfLife CD in their pic, too. But I think I'm the only person in the world who DOESN'T have that game. I just never got around to picking it up
