i'm not talking about a heavy duty one you would take out in the ocean, i'm talking about something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Intex-Excursio...b_title_sports

i saw someone with something similar at the lake i go fishing all the time and am now interested in it. i did not realize how cheap these things are, and i could get a whole package with a motor and stuff for just over $300, which would be awesome.

the thing is though, i have a small sports car and am not sure how the hell to transport this thing.

anyone have one of these, and if so, how do you transport it?

Trailer hitch. Not kidding. I had one on my '89 MR2, and I towed a jet ski, a 12' aluminum boat, and a small utility trailer with it no problem.

It does look funny, I'll give you that.

i have actually been researching more since i made the post, and a lot of people just blow it up at the place they are going to use it and deflate it when they leave and toss it in their trunk.

did some more searching and see that those powered pumps like you use for airmattresses, also come with car adapters so you can just power the pump with a cigarette lighter thing. so that will probably be the route i go. i can just deflate it and fold it up and put it in my trunk with the motor and battery and pump.

You trunk fits an outboard motor, battery, and a deflated boat? How big of a "small sports car" are we talking about here?

If you go this route, I would line your trunk with a tarp to keep it from getting messed up from the constant wet-dry-wet cycle.

hah to be honest i have no clue how big the deflated boat is lol. i have a g37s and the trunk space is pretty small. it's not tall at all. i also have a backseat that rarely has people in it too.

was just pricing it all out and i think i can get everything to get it up and running for like $500. that includes the boat, motor, motor mount, life jackets, anchor, battery, battery center, and charger.

I have a small black and red one. Nothing like what Amazon has listed there, but I took it out on the lake near my house one night and crossed the lake. It's a private lake so I felt like a Navy SEAL doing it. The lake is 2 miles across and took me two hours to cross.

Inflatable dingy?

Nope...my dingy works just fine...I don't need to pump it up.

Don't know if you're in Florida or not.

Don't know if you would want to patch an inflatable.

My sister just bought an inflatable kayak. She found out she needs a license for it. Its small enough to fit in a large duffel bag. As far as the drying, on a hot day it would dry pretty fast. But you could also have some towels on hand and dry it off before deflating.
