Mancave? I don't know if you'd call it that, I'd skip all the stupid sports crap and tacky wall hangings. We are going to be finishing the basement as a party area though. Theater, bar, karaoke/jukebox, MAME cabinet, dartboard. It's time for us to become the family gathering spot now that our parents are getting older.

All has a concrete floor. He built it when he was a really bad drunk so he could go out there and drink till he passed out without his wife nagging him. She wouldn't let him come in the house drunk 🙂

I admire his dedication to alcoholism.

LOL I never thought it like that.

He runs his own business and when she wouldn't let him in the house, he got all pissed and had the building built 🙂

The funny thing is that now he has quit drinking its where everyone including his wife spends their time when at his house. We even did easter dinner and stuff in his 'mancave'

no mancave, but i have a caveman.

he's great for parties & entertaining and wears nothing but Dallas Cowboys merch.

Calm down there jeeves.

Turin, in the driveway. I don't think we'd use the garage for cars anyway. It's a pain in the ass putting two cars in there, cause then you're right up against the wall when you're trying to get out and if I'm going to leave one car in the driveway, mine as well leave them both there and use the space for something fun.

The one thing I really don't like about my house is the size of the garage. On the side with the stairs/door, it's barely long enough to fit my wife's TSX. That car is barely a midsize. And the width - forget about it. And if you have your cars in the garage, there isn't much room for a lawnmower or other stuff, so then you need a shed. Most people in my neighborhood park on their driveways. It'd be nice to have a bigger garage, but this is the best house we found in our price range in our area, so we live with the garage.

The upside to not keeping the cars in the garage is that I can use it as a workshop of sorts.

A workshop to build a larger garage

I'm looking for a house as well. Its only me and the wifey though and we're likely going to get a 4 bedroom 3 car garage house. 2 spots in the garage for the cars and I'm going to put up a sliding plastic curtain for the third car port as my general wood shop/armorer/eloading space.

1: Master bedroom will be living space obviously
2: Will house hobbies like my table for my models (miniature motorcycles/etc, although I wouldn't mind some a room full of victoria secret models) and other general kraft items like a white box for photography. Will probably have an art table and easel for her.
3: Guest room.
4: General storage/keeping kidnapped midgets

EDIT: Clarified room usage.

From what I've seen, the pool table eventually just eats up space for most people. Great at first, but eventually, you get bored of it, and it takes up a ton of space. Dart board - takes up almost no space & just as fun.

I had something similar in mind.

A mancave? Nah, I'd much prefer a womancave.

Besides, all Batman ever did with his cave was sit in the dark with a younger man wearing tights, who said "Jeepers!" a lot.
Quickly Robin, bring the BatLube!

*SLAM!*

*FLOP!*

*SLURP!*

*SOCK!*

*SPOON!*

Great for the economy if you & the wife can afford to reno the house after mortgage, tax, insurance, and utilities.

My garage was a work shop if you can called that a mancave.

Renegotiate? That's not very manly. He needs to take back what's rightfully his. 🙂

liquor cabinet

leather La-Z-Boy and couch

model train set running around the room, suspended from the ceiling (seriously, a bar in my town has this and it's awesome!)

Here's the progression of my "man cave" build

Later equipped with after the pics:

- Full size beer fridge and bulk beef freezer
- Dart board
- Air compressor
- Table saw
- Compound Miter saw
- A few base cabinets left over from my kitchen remodel

My next home will have a true man cave....a dedicated home theater and game room/bar.
