anyone here have a guitarport?

I just got a guitarport and am having a problem - randomly while I am playing (and sometimes even when I am not) I will get this sudden burst of extremely loud static. Sometimes it lasts for only a second, other times it lasts for about 10-15. I have no idea what is causing this, but it is extremely annoying. I really like this thing otherwise.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Also when I first installed the software, I was able to listen to previews of the lessons, and download preset configs from other users. Now I can't for the life of me figure out where to go in the program to do that. Is it some demo feature that automatically disables itself after a day or what?

thanks

I have the guitarport but I've never experienced the problem you have. Are all your cables plugged in securely? 😕

When you first intall the GuitarPort you get GP online free for 30 days or so (I think). After that it costs money. 🙂

Yes, the cables seem to be fine. Could the signal be getting clipped? On the master volume control, how many of the lights should be lit up before clipping occurs? Also isn't the LED on the unit itself supposed to tell you if its getting clipped or not?

Sounds like it may be a short in your audio cord, or maybe the jack. Try swapping the cord and if you can, use the mic jack on your sound card instead of the line in (or visa versa).

Yeah, I think you have to pay a monthly fee to continue getting access to the lessons and whatnot.

well right now here is how I have it setup: The guitar goes into the guitar port, the stereo output of the port goes into my amp, and also into the mic in of my computer (for recording) using a Y splitter cable. I am listening through headphones though, connected to the guitarport's headphone out.
