Anyone here have a "digital" video player?

I was at a computer store a few weeks ago and came across this huge 60" tv playing this crystal clear video. I thought it was just a DVD but the sales man told me it was "digital video." Like digital VHS, does such a thing exist?

Most of us call it HDTV. (And yes, there are HD videocasette recorders on the market.)

Could he have meant a Tivo-like device? I have one called a digital video recorder, made by Samsung. Great picture playback, records digital signal from direct tv.

Siegel, yes, there are also HD DVR's on the market. They've just entered the consumer market and are at about the $1K price point.

D-VHS is HD. That could be what it was.

Yeah it was D-VHS. Minendo... yeah he specifically told me it was not DVD. That is why I was tripping out. I do recall he said it was D-VHS. My mind went blank when I posted this lol. Minendo, do you have an HDTV? Those things are sweet.
