Anyone here has Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree? I need to ask some questions for my class.

· How did you go about getting that position?

· How is your company?s business picture?

· What is the future hiring situation?

· Do you think that it is important for engineering
students to get some engineering-related work
experience prior to graduation?

· Can you advise me as to how to go about getting a
position that will give me that experience?

Not sure if I fit in this group but I finished school in computers here in iceland.

- Good Solution ltd. (www.gl.is)
- Responsibility
- 2 Years business school, 3 years computer school (networking)
- Hardly any, most usefull is the stuff I have learned myself
- Assistant Net admin for VISA Iceland
- Through family
- Good, very good I think, not sure about the question though.
- Still good, students from my school are very sought after here, few manage to finish the school because of job offers.
- YES, what you learn in school is nothing compared to what you learn when you are working.
- Talk to people you know who work in the this field, try to get a job through someone you know first, just to get experence. Do your very best at that job, if you do it well, word gets around.

Thanks Czar. I'm not sure what "How is your company?s business picture?" means either. The instructor just gave us a list of questions and find some people to ask them to who are related to your major.
