im 20 years old and my teeth need some improvement, my dentist is apparantly also trained in doing invisalign and says he can make my teeth perfect in 6 months. I looked into gettin braces a few years ago and they told me invisalign would take me 3 years. So has anyone here used invisalign and how long did ur treatment last?

That's what I expected, but I was hoping the cost would go down after a few years. I may take the plunge next year, depending on finances.

price is the same as regular braces, and i dont think the prices will be falling since medical prices usually only rice.

Lasik depends on a large capital purchase, the equipment in the surgery center. Over time you write the cost off. There are also newer proceedures which are driving the cost down. More providers are also trained in the technique, another factor driving costs down.

Invisalign will not be getting cheaper. The lab cost alone to have the aligners made is almost 2k (thats what it costs the doc). The national average is $4800 for invisalign and average treatment length is 11 months. Compare to $4780 for traditional straight wire and average length of 18.5 months.

The invisalign technique moves teeth more predictably, but is unable to move as quickly or compensate for severe rotations or translations (movement of teeth through bone).

with regular braces it would have taken me 12 months... with invisign aligners its going to be 15. i dont mind though because i can take them off whenever and theyre discrete. i like that flexibility. plus i dont have to take time off work to go to the orthodontist all the time. that's money, too.

My g/f is about 4 months away from being done with invisalign and she has absolutely loved it. She recommends it to everyone.

My orthodontist told me that Invisalign doesn't work quite well in certain situations (mine being one of them). I probably might have been able to get Invisalign if I had gone to another orthodontist, but I trust his judgement, besides, traditional wire braces aren't that bad.

they dont help if ur jaw needs to be adjusted, invisalign only straightens teeth, not ur jaw bone.

is invisalign covered by dental insurance? i'm guessing it is since it's still orthodontics like braces?
