Does anyone here Geocache? We've been doing it on and off for about 2 1/2 years. So far only 187 found, but I just hid my first cache and am waiting for it to be reviewed and published on geocaching.com.

Shhh...don't tell the muggles.

I started it with my son last summer. We found 1 cache and seriously struggled finding all the other we set out to. He got frustrated with it so we stopped. Our GPS sucked. Once you hit tree cover it freaked out and had no idea which way to send you.

We've been doing it for about 7 or 8 years. We just do it occasionally or on vacation. It's a fun thing for us to do with the grandkids, but they're getting older and it's not on their list of fun things to do anymore.

We don't even keep track of how many we've found. We were the first to find one on Molokai though.

The hobby has really taken off since we got started in it. I learned about it from an article in the newspaper.

I don't personally do it, but my one Uncle and his family seem to enjoy doing it. Over the holidays they took some other members of the family out. Personally I prefer the inside 😛.

That's part of the reason I started geocaching. Too much inside time. That and it's fun to find the really elaborate hides. My favorite was a telephone pole with about 1,000 nails in it. One of them pulled out to reveal the cache log rolled up inside.

i do. for like 4 years.

i hid 1 cache.

real casual with the soon to be wife. found only like 50. we only do it the summer and when there is nothing else going on. we have been to so nice parks and thing we didnt know about our area.

best one was a micro that was in a tree. u pull on a branch the it was hollowed out with the log in it.

I discovered geocaching a few months ago, found around 10 or so, and then winter came in and I haven't been since...
Good activity for getting you out of the house, and a little exciting too 🙂

I've found maybe 30 caches and have 3 hidden. What I learned by hiding caches is that people are lazy. If folks have to walk more than a few yards from the car to your cache, they don't. We placed two caches in gorgeous spots that required hiking in. The one with a steep, mile long hike has been visited three or four time. The one with a half mile relatively flat hike has been visted a couple dozen times. We placed the third cache in a really ugly location with easy access by car and it gets visits all the time.
