Well, the paper is ok. It's your typical small town paper that covers events in three counties(Corbin has parts of it in 3 different counties). And YES, sports are a pretty big part of this town......no doubt about it! As far as rent goes, I would say that you have a very good estimate on your rent. It will probably run you anywhere from 300-400 a month(depending on what you rent and where it's at). There is a web site for the town. It's a HORRIBLE site last time I looked but it might be worth a shot to see about finding some place.

Corbin's Crappy Homepage

Let me know if I can help with anything else! :D

TIA.
Hey, didn't get a chance to see this thread till Joemonkey PM'd me. burnedout, I find it scary you knew I was from Richmond :Q. Anyways, I guess you're from Alabama according to your profile? Pretty much what everyone is telling you is the truth (except for the stereotypes, we Kentuckians can't get away from them.) I have an aunt who lives in Birmingham, so I've visited your state a few times, and can tell you it is a bit different up here. Yes, a little more country than your used to, but it grows on ya.

The town does lay right on I-75. The nearest biggest cities I guess would be Somerset and London. My brother's girlfriend is from Somerset, and they have some really nice car shows all throughout the summer if you like stuff like that. Plus some of the best home cooking you'll ever eat is up here. I would also say the cost of living is probaly a bit cheaper up here.

I like it fairly good living in Kentucky, but only because I moved into a bigger city. Used to live in Irvine, which is a bit smaller than Corbin.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Another Louisvillian chiming in. I must say as much as I've traveled (Europe, Mexico, Canada, all over the U.S.), I do truly enjoy coming back home to Louisville. This is truly a great city amidst a great state (some of the best state parks in the nation are here). Granted, our Governor is a buffoon but that's par for the course around here, unfortunately. And, anybody who wants to paint a 'Deliverance' picture of life here in Ky can kiss my a**. :D

BTW, Engineer...umm...having a little trouble w/Spartans lately? :D :D :D :D j/k!!
