Anyone here fish at pay lakes?

Anyone here catfish at pay lakes much? If so what are the best rigs/baits to use? Any secrets you want to share? Bait recipes maybe?

I used to do that, around fifth grade, and it's pretty simple.

The best way to catch catfish is with something that stinks. I've known people to use sponges dipped in chicken . . . erm . . . goodness, then there are your gizzards, your cheeses, your corns, anything that smells really bad.

i used to use small blocks of cheddar that you leave out in the sun for a while. really worked. but now, i live in socal, so i have the big ocean to fish in.... not that i ever do.

Whenever I do a little trolling in my local watering hole, I'm usually able to hook a beauty, so I refuse to pay for something I can get for free. All you need is the right lure.

BTW, lemon juice does a pretty good job of getting rid of that nasty fish odor.

I remember the only time I went to one. Some of the fish I caught weren't big enough for me so I threw them back. Turns out they had a guy with binoculars counting how many I had thrown back. They wanted to charge me for them. Never went back.
