I shipped the product back to them my RMA status changed from this to this:

Approved
Recieved
Processing
Closed

Wtf does closed mean, that its done and they are going to refund my card? Or they closed it cause something went wrong?

DING DING, school's out B!TCH!!

on a more serious note: i suggest you call newegg and find out. it is possible there is something voiding your RMA.

i am pretty sure the rma went thru - my says closed now- when they recieved my product - and now it says closed -

If you read their RMA procedure page, it mentions that after the RMA is closed, a credit has been issued, but it takes a few days to post to the card.

*sigh*

Does anyone read anymore?

Approximately how long will it be before a refund/credit actually appears on my credit/debit card?

It takes us approximately two business days to process a credit back to your credit card and 2-3 business days for it to appear on your statement. After Newegg.com issues the credit, the rest of the process is out of our ability to speed up. At this point merchant services and your Bank determine how long before the credit posts in your account. This is normally 2-3 business days.

This is the exact process in reverse order as when any merchant charges your card. The customer will think there is an immediate withdrawal of the funds, but it is really only an authorized hold. Once merchant services and the merchants bank has processed the charge then the funds will appear in the merchants account. Again, the same time frame applies to the merchant.

I have done such a thing. No probs at all.

Did you get an email stating "We received your RMA and are processing it."? If so, you're fine...unless you're trying to rip them off or something. Not saying that you ARE, but you'd be surprised. I.E. People will cut holes in a case, then try and return it syaing it's "defective." <--gross example

I bought a DVD/RW from them. It was a POS and wouldn't even READ CDs!!! I returned it and the money was in my account (IIRC) 5-7 days later. 🙂 Newegg is very good about Customer Service.

Insane3D I looked all over there site for a list of the RMA stages and there was none. No where in that paragraph you posted does it say Closed means a credit has happened, in fact I don't see the word closed in that paragraph at all, unless Im missing it?

Once they have credited your checking account or credit card, it can take up to a week for it to actually show up. How long since they said "Closed?" Newegg will not intentionally screw you...they are the biggest online Hardware Reseller in the USA.
