This is something that I'd like to do sometime in my life andI was wondering if anyone here has been able to do it.

I'm sad that I can't be the first person that my girlfriend knows to have done it. She met some guy while she's been in India who has climed it (and many others as well). Makes me feel jealous cause I don't know if I have the ability to do it and she knows another guy that can. Makes me feel like less of a man...

Oh well. I still want to climb it :)

So, anyone here done it before?

Your girlfriend is going to dump you if you don't make it to the top, you have to climb the tallest mountain in the world to prove your manhood.

Find the guy that climbed it and beat the crap out of him that would prove your manhood. If you have to climb the worlds tallest moutain to prove your manhood go for it. Is she going to climb it to prove her womanhood?

You aren't less of a man if you haven't climbed Mount Everest. You're less of a man if you let it get to you. She isn't going to leave you and fly to India to be with some dude who climbed it.

Don't let the fact that her ex has climbed Mt. Everest make you feel jealous. I'm sure there are things you've done that he hasn't done. You can't spend your life comparing yourself to others. It will always leave you feeling inferior in some way. You have the girl now, and that's all that really matters. :D

Oh, and no, I have never climbed Mt. Everest. :)

If your gf has already met someone who's already climbed Mt. Everest, don't let that get to you. You still have the chance to be the first person she knows to have climbed K2. Don't miss this small window of opportunity!!!

lol... her ex didn't climb Everest. There is a guy who was staying at the same hotel as her in India that she got to talk to that has climbed Everest. The guy is 32 and she isn't interested in him :)

I just thought that I'd be the only person she had ever known that had been able to climb the mountain. I'll be the next best thing... the only boyfriend that has climbed it.

I'm making a statement to ATOT. I do not know when it will happen (I need to get into better shape and do a bunch of training) but I promise that I will at least attempt to reach the summit. I'll take a picture and I'll hold a sign that says "ATOT" for proof :)
