Ok, here goes.
In the basement laundry room we have a set of 5 old cupboards that we use for random storage. All had magnetic latches that function properly, yet one on the end would constantly be open. We'd go down to do a load of laundry and it would be closed, but the next time we went down to put the clothes in the dryer it would be open. That ended when I took a saw and cut the last cupboard off and threw it away.
One night we were heading to bed (this was after we had lived in the house for about 2 years) and there was a small stack of green postit notes in middle of the bedroom floor. It was a note that some woman had written to a previous owner of the house and it went on about how much she appreciated him for sticking with her and helping her out while she was dying from cancer. We had no kids and no pets at the time, the thing just appeared out of no where.
We constantly hear footsteps comming up the stairs from the basement. We live in a split level house and the family room is up stairs right next to the steps, and we will be watching a movie and hear 2-3 footfalls on the steps. Completely freaky, makes me break into a cold sweat every time. Also we can hear the floor creaking not just once like a house would do during cold or settling, but 2, 3, 4 creaks like someone was walking across the floor. This usually comes from our bedroom.
Both the wife and I have observed flashes of a large white figure out of the corner of our eyes, usually comming from the hallway area that leads to ours and the soon to be baby's bedroom.
We've had a couple of glasses explode on us. The most memorable was when the wife and I had dozed off on the couch and we had a small tumbler style glass on the coffee table that was empty. There was a very loud gunshot like noise and the glass exploded into hundreds of peices, like safety glass would do from a car window. Glass everywhere and it scared the living crap out of me and the wife.
The dog barks at nothing every now and then, and we caught our 3 year old son staring off into space one day smiling. When we asked what he was smiling at, he said there was a clown and it was making him happy. One could easily pass this off as the imagination of a child but we've been through a lot in this house to make us believe otherwise.
The wife also tells of a time where she was awoken in the middle of the night to see a figure standing at the foot of our bed, but I didn't wake up to see it so I don't really count that one.
