Anyone here currently in the Airforce or the Army?

Well I have some questions about the Army and the Airforce and i'd rather hear it from on of you guys in the forums that are out here instead from a recruiter that is only interested in enlisting me. If you are in right now and have AOL or MSN then message me at bondzbox@hotmail.com (MSN) or s00per 1337 (AOL). Any help or advice I can get from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the Marines, but when I was being recruited I talked to army and air force recruiters. Plus I have friends in the army and also air force. If I can help, IM me at GrandCow

I have joined the Army, but haven't yet shipped out for Basic Training. That happens a week from this coming Tuesday.

Some helpful questions to ask the recruiter:

What is the chance I'll have the EXACT job guaranteed to me, in writing, before I join (Not a field such as Intelligence or Communications, but the EXACT job)?
When is the job training conducted, and is it ever deferred?
How do I attend college, and what are the realistic opportunities for me to attend?
Exactly which base will I be assigned to after training, and can I have the exact base guaranteed in my contract, before I enlist?
Do I have a choice in enlistment periods, and what are those choices?
How much free time will I have?

Another important question to ask yourself is why you are considering enlisting. What do you hope to get out of it?

Yeah there are a ton of questions I have. I'd like to go out for special forces or something where I get to shoot things or do physical things. I'd kinda like to keep computers a hobby.

I am in the Air Force, but I am a JAG officer and probably not the best person to ask specific questions about enlisted recruiting. That said, I strongly encourage you to give a long hard look at the Air Force prior to enlisting in any other branch, as I feel we offer the best quality of life. This is borne out by status of forces surveys of military members - they show that airmen consistently have significantly higher job satisfaction than soldiers, marines, or sailors.

I dont have to make a decision for a few months but when I do it will be the most important decision in my life. Im trying to get to know everything thats possible about the two before i make a decision.

If job satisfaction = sitting in a chair, I suppose you could say this is true.

😉😛
