Anyone here buy an AMD A64 X2 from NewEgg expecting a FREE copy of Nero?

Well, I did! newegg.com ran a special offer in one of their full color catalogs (you get these with orders) stating anyone who purchased an X2 (excluding the 3800+) would receive a free copy of Nero ($100 value). Well, I purchased my X2 from newegg but didn't receive my free copy of Nero.

I contacted newegg via phone and after several minutes waiting for the person to figure out why I didn't get a free copy of Nero, she came back and stated that the offer was "while supplies last". Well, being the nice guy that I am, I just said, "oh, ok thanks" and hung up. So then I quickly located the catalog to confirm the offer was "while supplies last". Unfortunately, nowhere in the offer does it state "while supplies last". The offer says nothing about supplies!

So anyway, I'm kind of pissed. I sent newegg an email about two weeks ago letting them know that I wasn't a happy camper and they totally blew me off.

So has anyone here been screwegged out of a copy of Nero?

What do you guys think I should do next?

Escalate it. Be a pain in the butt. I bet $10 bucks you get your copy of Nero. Mention the attorneys general office of whatever state you live in, and mention false advertising too.

Newegg likes to blow people off lately. They did it to me when they recalled a monitor I ordered that was already on the truck to be delivered. Took me a negative on RR to get them to respond to me. I try not to shop there anymore, and have been successful thus far.

Complain.
Or at minimum give them a bad RR rating.

Absolutely complain. Don't be a nice guy, but be a jerk. Scream, yell and request to talk to a supervisor. When I bought my GTX 512s from TigerDirect, they didn't send me Call of Duty 2. Called BFG and directed them to here. Then BFG blamed TigerDirect. They do this all the time.

So guess what, I did what I just suggested to you. Result = 2 copies of Call of Duty 2 overnighted via FedEx Morning First (8:00AM)

Excellent advice. I've seen a lot of people taken care of after they post a negative rating on resellerratings.com

Being a pain in their ass works best, I've found. Not with Newegg, but any company. Make enough noise and they'll put it right, if only to shut you (Or any other customer) up :D
