Anyone here been to the Detroit zoo?

Thinking about going in the next couple of weeks after I get my new digital camera so I can try it out.

How is the place?

Probably the crapiest zoo in the U.S. but if you have never been there, it's worth going once.

Not sure where you're getting that from. Its not as good as the San Diego Zoo or something of that like, but its really quite good if you're into that kind of thing.

check out the polar bear exhibit, they have this tunnel you walk through and you can see the polar bears swim over over you. It awesome

That's weird, I didn't know they opened up the county jail to the public...

I went there in the spring and wasn't too thrilled about it but I ended up having a really good time. I thought it was actually pretty cool. I also second the polar bear exhibit.

Never been to the Detroit Zoo, but the Toledo Zoo is a pretty decent little place.

Only zoo I've ever been to that has matamatas.

I went when I was little. It's a decent zoo. It's not the San Diego Zoo or Disney's Animal Kingdom (which, aside from the obvious themed experience, is really a tremendous zoo), but not bad either.
