Likely. Its either not true (still nothing being reported) or the media has decided not to tell us (very unlikely).

You cant hide 2500 burning oil wells.

There is a theory that it would further the instability in the region were he removed. I haven't read up on it extensively, although I recall that it has something to do with opposing muslim factions waring.

It's been speculated for some time all of Iraq's oil wells have been rigged to blow up. That may or may not be the case. I'm sure either way Bush will assure us the Iraqi People still own those oil fields and I'm sure he's got a crack team on Ready 5 waiting to tap off and repair those wells pronto, possibly well before the rest of Iraq's infrastructure is repaired.
