Anyone hear of ibuypower?

Hi all,

I've HEARD of ibuypower, but can't recall if that's a good thing or not. Anyone know anything about their Athlon64 notebooks (particularly the 17" models). They hit my price point of $2000 quite well.
They any good for games?

Thanks.

I would go with Cyberpower instead. (cyberpowerpc.com). You'll pay an average of about 50$ more than Ibuypower for essentially the same product, but the tech support and build quality are supposedly much better. For this laptop, 2000$ total lets you swap out the 80gb/5400rpm for a 60gb/7200rpm hard drive, a 3400+ processor, and change the generic brand laptop memory to 1GB of Corsair XMS. The internal R9700 can be overclocked (I'm running mine at 460mhz with no problems whatsoever), leaving you with one heck of a nice gaming laptop. Please also note that this system not only includes the price of an OS (not included at iBuyPower's price) and a copy of Half Life 2, a game which still goes for about 35$ minimum.
EDIT: There seems to be a 5% off coupon, dropping the price of the above laptop to 1900$. I would use the money to get a second battery; DTR/gaming laptops like these are famous for bad battery life.

Hey, somehow IBuyPower is affiliated w/ cyberpower (whom I made the grave mistake of oredering from)

Max PC has reviewed both Cyberpower and Ibuy.....both got really bad reviews in terms or reliability, cable management and such (where it really counts) but the comps are very cheap.

I had to get Discover to give me a chargeback b/c cyberpower was playing games and not giving me a working computer....I returned it for a full refund b/c it was DOA (2 out of 2 times on the same order) and they refused to refund it saying, they never recieved it (I had a UPS reciept saying they had signed for it.)

Got discover to charge it back, got a fully refund (save shipping to send it back to them, twice.) I will never order from these smaller complanies, ever again. Partially b/c they use illegal imigrants (they are on the west coast) that can barely speak english, partially b/c they cheat you of your money, partially b/c a chimp could build a better computer.

I imagine IBuy Power is the same.....I'd say, if you do buy, you are on thin ice.
