ANYONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IN BATTLEFIELD 2?

When I run battlefield 2 on the lowest settings possible on my 6600gt (agp), I'm still getting lagging
Specs
2.66 ghz p4
512 mb ram
leadtek geforce 6600gt

anyone know why?

my video card is and processor is more than up to scratch, and its even on minimum settings.

I have a 6800U and the game was lagging/stuttering with medium settings with 512MB ram. :p

Load times are better and I could actually play the game when I bumped up to 1gb of memory. The game still isn't flawless but it is playable unlike it was before with only 512MB.

I have 1.5 GB and a 6800GT. With most of the settings on high I was 5MB from hitting the pagefile.

I wouldn't have believed it until I did it myself - I was having the same problem and was starting to get annoyed. I upgraded to a sound card from my onboard sound cause I thought that was causing it...that didn't help. Then I started looking at processors to upgrade my aging P4 2.4 but decided to up the memory first since it was cheaper. I had 1gig and bought another gig. Now I can run my 6600gt on high settings w/aa and it barely ever skips on me and my machine is far from a high end gaming rig....before I could set everything to low or off and still it lagged on me.

Alt-tab out to task manager while a map is loading. I had 1 GB of RAM and it got up to around 1.2 GB - 1.5 GB of memory usage.

512 is in no way going to run the game smoothly as you would like. get 1.5 GB+ or adjust to the lag...

I have 2 GB now and I have no complaints with everything set on high

Yes, but you do not have enough memory.

Damn, did I miss the bandwagon? Can I still recommend "GET MORE RAM"?

(I have 2 x 512MB in a machine that only has 2 slots... arrrgh! I want 1.5 or 2GB!!!)

woot, i think someone forgot to mention its the ram. :p

i hit 970mb on all medium setting, so no way u can play the game on 512mb.
