Anyone have trouble swallowing large pills?

I've been afraid of swallowing large pills for most my life. They just seem to get stuck.

Just now I tried to take a Centrum multivitamin and it got stuck in my throat. Chugging water didn't make it go down. I had to take several large bites of food.

Does anyone else have this condition?

Happens to me sometimes, used to be a big problem but now I have routine I do before swallowing a Centrum and it helps prevent them getting stuck.

My sister and father have a problem with it. It's never bothered me any.

I sometimes have a problem. I use it just break it in half with my teeth or a knife and then swallow it.

I actually tried this with the Centrum. I think it might have ruined the contour of the pill, causing it to get stuck, but I'm pretty sure it still would have gotten stuck even without breaking it in half.

I drink a little bit of water then immediately put the pill in my mouth while the water is still going down, then I drink some more water and down the pill with the next swallow.

I used to have a problem.

All i do to take a centrum now is take a swig of a drink, push the pill all the way to the back of my tongue with my finger and swallow, take another drink.

Worst case scenario i bump my tonsils and gag once, which is annoying, but the pill never gets stuck.

Have a little water before, and open the throat. I used to have trouble swallowing smaller pills, most of my friends are too chicken to swallow really big pills.

you can crush the multivitamins and eat it with food. I dont typically like multivitamins though because they tend to give me halitosis.

I wrap mine in fruit roll up, this is for if the pill taste really icky.

I do the same thing if the pill if the pill is really soft and likes to dissolve right when you put it in your mouth. I also do it with large pills, helps let it slide down.

I'm fine with pills except for the vitamin ones. The One A Days and such are HUGE. They are like horse pills. I'd much rather they were Two A Days and half the size. I don't take them because they make me gag. Any normal sized pill I can take no problem.
