I got one this morning without leaving my bed :) I had my girlfriend and her parents (who go out on BF every year) pick mine up. They were there at about 6am and there were still several there. I guess it pays to live in a rural area.

I also picked up this monitor this morning at Best Buy. I got in line around 1:20am and was maybe the 50th person. I was hoping to sell my spot to some schmo for $300 like they were doing with the PS3's, but no such luck. ;) Seriously, my main goal was to get either this monitor, or the Samsung 19" widescreen that was on sale for $129.00. As I see from the previous two posters, my BB here in CT wasn't the only one absolutely mobbed as 5am approached. The line of people was wrapped around the side of the building, and down the street. Probably close to a mile. I was amazed.

Anyway, the let 20 people in at a time, so I was in the 3rd set of people in the store. Most people were going for either tv's, or laptops, or complete PC systems. There were a stack of these monitors, probably 30 of them. They also had about 30 of the Samsungs too. I was able to compare for a few minutes, and decided to go for the 22". Figured for $199, you can't go wrong. I even used a few McDonalds $1 coupons from the monopoly game, so it was $196.00 before tax.

I'm at work now on no sleep, so needless to say I haven't hooked up my new monitor yet. I'll post a review when I do later on tonight.

gratz. I guess i wasn't expecting such a mob. I'll be prepared next year. ;)

Had I known, I could've picked one up for you. :(

Thanks for the offer. :)

Yeah I picked one up in Birmingham, AL. I rode by to see if anyone was in line at 10:30 and there was already about 100 people so I jumped in line and was the second person to check out. They could have had more in the back but I only saw 5 boxes on the shelf. There must had been between 1000-1500 people if not more in line when I came out of the store. I thought there was going to be a brawl, lots of people showed up at 4:45 am and stood across the parking waiting until the doors open to jump in line but no one was having any of that and the police stepped in. The people in front got in line at 2:30pm. Best buy got things right they came out passing out vouchers for big items and only let parts of the line in at a time so it was easy going for me. Also, they came out and told us it was the customers responsibility to keep order to the line and everyone did.

i picked up one of these monitors. im trying to debate if i'd be better off just reselling it on craigslist.

i grabbed both the samsung 19" for $130 and the westinghouse 22" for $200.
i was going to buy both, decide which one i wanted to keep later , and sell the other.

unforuntely at the counter i realized i grabbed the wrong samsung box :( so i only ended up buying the westinghouse.

it bothers me that i just found out this thing only has a 1 year warranty. that doesnt say much about the product! The samsungs have 3 year warranties i year.

I might just try to resell this thing on craigslist or something.

I picked one of these up yesterday at BB. Mainly I want to use it as an HDTV and DVD monitor. Actually, I'd trade it for a 26" or 27" lcd HDTV if any gamers out there want to :)

Anyway ... Does anyone have any suggestions for picture/color settings using the component A/V inputs? I have it hooked up to my HD cable box via component. Picture is great, but color is off. I know so little about calibration and am having a tough time getting the picture right.

Thanks!

Yeah, so far. It overscans the picture, chopping a little bit of the sides off. But so far as I know, yes.

Why, is there an issue with component on this model? I might have missed that in scanning the thread.

yeah :( the two of em I got both have problem with xbox's component out.

both 480p and 720p. :(

I was hoping for it to be an issue with xbox, but seeing other ppl having same issue makes me rethink...

Oh, wow - that's a drag. Yeah, mine's fine from the cable box. I set the cable box to 16:9 tv and 720p component output and it works just fine.

yep , i set everything enabled in xbox menu with 16:9.

Ive tested 720p with Soul Caliber 2 and 480p with Forza... colors seem fine but the screen is so messy.. it looks like there are 3 images on top of each other that has shifted little bit.

I too managed to grab one from BB yesterday, I nabbed one that a BB employee was trying to bring back to the monitor section, apparently someone took it and then decided to leave it later. I set mine to 720p on component and the sides were getting cut off, I switched to 1080i and it looked a whole lot better.

well I was going to put this next to my pc and use for cable tv and a variety of consoles. So i hooked up a nintendo 64 to the composite hookups and tried it out. I thought since n64 games were 4:3 picture that it would be 4:3 but instead it filled the screen and now has a strecthed look to it. Is there anyway to set it to 4:3? I read some where that u cant do that with either vga or dvi on this monitor but i thought i read that you can with the other hook ups.

this keeps coming up, but i am pretty sure none of the TN panels can do 1:1. So to answer your question, no, not that we are aware of.

You can set it to 4:3 if you go to the menu, go down to the bottom menu, and choose "normal" for aspect.

ok i see that now thanks. To bad this monitor didnt come with a remote or at least have IR in front so you could use a universal remote so you could flip through the different inputs without having to reach around the back to hit the button to do it. Where i want to put this monitor its gonna make a pain to have to do that every time i want to flip inputs

I read somewhere that this monitor supports HDCP over DVi even though it's not listed on the specs. Anyone know if that's true?
