Hello everyone,

I'm curious to see if anyone has the new rev of the VNF4 ?

Where did you get your's from ?

Does is have the missing voltage settings from 1.45 to 1.6 ?

What bios rev is it using ?

And what's your experience w/ it so far ?

Thanks for the info.

Regards,
Jose

Does is have the missing voltage settings from 1.45 to 1.6 ? No (still missing), I believe this to be a design flaw AFAIK. One that no one cares about since you "clearly don't need any voltage settings between there if you're going for massive overclocks."

What bios rev is it using ? Currently using the original bios (ver1), but on my other VNF4 I've tried all of them. As far as I can tell, everything past the first original bios was an improvement on the first one but they all seemed about the same from each other past the first one. Except the most recent ones allow for nTune monitor to work properly.

And what's your experience w/ it so far ? I don't notice any difference in stability, but I also had a fan blowing on my original NB heatsink. It's basically the same as the original.

I got my replacement board from newegg about a week sooner than you; I received another board with passive cooling. I noticed the pic you posted of the BFG board; looks exactly like the Chaintech.

I've been trying to get a handle on cooling and noise with this board.

Anyone care to comment about the fan noise now that this board is actively cooled?

Also, does this board have temperature control over the system, mobo chip, and cpu fans (meaning the fan speed increases/decreases based upon temperature)?

I've read conflicting reports.

Good to here that nTune problems have been resolved with a bios update....that was one of my concerns.

Thanks!

That's funny. I bought mine from Newegg two weeks ago and I got the black PCB with the heatsink that has "Zenith VE" on it.

I see no need to have active cooling since my HSF (look in sig) basically eclipses the NB HS and actively cools it better than that warm fart of a fan does.

I hope you didn't worry too much about getting an actively cooled unit. My understanding from another thread is that Chaintech is readily and rapidly sending out fans for those who request them.

Anyway, please comment on the fan noise after you complete your build. You'll help me in deciding if the Chaintech is the route I want to go.
