What do you think of it so far? How do Ritek dvd-r's work on it. Burn em at 4x? Links to 3rd party reviews would be helpful too. Thanks guys.

i love it.
used FujiFilm 2x -R (no dvd id). ran great on my 4 standalones and 2 xboxes and my other dvd drive.
Memorex 4x -R (CMC). just got these and the compatiblility is the same so far and it burns at 4x. mmm
Memorex 4x +R (Ricoh). Richohs are the best. not a problem. i use these for data backup.

Cool thanks. Do you backup movies with it? I plan to use mine in order to backup dvds. Probably gonna use ritek g04 disks(4x dvd-r). Ahhh, I'm just torn in whoich drive to get. I'm also considering NEC 1300a and Pioneer a06. I don't know what to do. The 2500 is tempting though.

How does this compare to LG's GSA4081BB 8X Dual Format offering? I'm stuck between the two. Primary because the benzel on the LG is more attrative:p.

But the specs and price are pretty much the same.

edit: LG burns DVD-R at 4x vs 8x of NEC
LG Burns CD-R at 24x vs 32x of nec

I guess I'm getting the NEC:)
