I just found out about this Sero business... 30/mo for 500 min unlimited data/texts.

I pay an arm and a leg for Verizon. I have been thinking about ATT because of the Iphone, but I can't justify switching and paying the same (although getting data) + 500 for a phone. Sprint seems like a logical choice here, but what am I missing. 30/mo is really cheap.

Moved to Gadgets, Gear, and Phones.

I just switched from Verizon to Sprint. Reception seems a bit worse in some areas, even though technically it should be the same since Sprint and Verizon have agreed to let each other's customers roam on their towers. Other than that, I've been happy with the lower prices and less brain-dead voicemail.

I switched from VZW to Sprint back in January to take advantage of SERO. It seems like the service is just as good, and the unlimited data and voice roaming between the Verizon and Sprint networks is great.

I highly recommend it.

I just signed up with the SERO plan after being with Nextel for 5+ years. Went to Alabama last week to play some golf on the Bobby Jones trail and had no reception problems even when out in the sticks. So far I'm loving it but I'm not sure I've been using it long enough (less than a month thus far) to make a complete determination. Can't beat the price though and the unlimited data access is great.

Cool... Good enough for me. I just thought this must be insane... I pay Verizon 65/mo for like 700 minutes and 1000 texts and no data plan. I need to check e-mail on my phone, etc... Verizons reception is great but they charge WAY too much. Thanks QED and BHeemsoth, I will get Sprint, a nice pda and save some money.

I had Sprint many moons ago. At least 5 or 6 years. It was ok, but the service in rural areas was lacking. When I first moved here I had AT&T and the service was similarly spotty. Now I am on Verizon and I can use my cell phone in my trailer. I don't use wireless broadband, so not sure how my opinions matters, but I think it largely depends on where you live. I hate how Verizon cripples their phones, but I had to compromise for signal integrity.

That is cheap as hell. Just be advised that the Iphone killer, Samsung Instict comes out in June. That's what I'm waiting for.

As for Sprint service. I'm very happy with my service since I've been with them, roughly six years. My only gripe is I don't get reception in the building I work in but that's not really a big deal.

Sprint SERO is pretty sweet, but I'm thinking of switching (just for the sake of trying something new). Sprint has been good for the last 2 years. Unfortunately, they're not so good if you do a lot of international travel.

I thought about going to AT&T but their prices are expensive compared to that of Sprint. Seems they charge for anything and everything. Monthly charge for detailed billing? WTF?
