Anyone have, or can comment on a Motorola V60g?

I'm getting sick of my Nokia 8260 w/ AT&T and saw this phone @ Amazon.com and it seems like a good deal.

I don't know how great T-Mobile is, but the phone is almost free after rebates.

From what I know, T-Mobile's coverage is as bad as Sprint PCS.

Phone wise, the Motorola V60 is a great phone. The V60c won first place in at Cnet's Verizon phone reviews ( I don't think it'll last since the Motorola T720 is out ).

But yea.. phone is great. Tiny, programmable sound, tri-band, flip phone, looks great.
I heard it's common for people to break the antenna. I have the V60c now and I've had no problems with the antenna.

Just make sure T-mobile covers your area.

I have used a V60t for some time as a work phone. It is a beautiful little device, and works very well. They have done a lot to make the user menus more user-friendly than those on my StarTac.

I have it with T-Mobile service and have used it in Sacramento area and West LA. I really like it. Most of the time I have full bars of service. My only complaint is occassionally it will drop a call (like in Santa Monica) but then return to full bars. But that doesn't happen all that often. Overall I like the phone a lot and I like the service. I say go for it

I have T-mobile (jumped on the 1000 min+free weekends for $40/month deal), and the v60.

It's a great phone.

Here in Los Angeles, I haven't got any problems with it. Normally at least 3/4 bars. At USC, signal is superb, with 4/4.

Before my current phone, I had Sprint. Coverage was adequate. Oddly enough, my v60 gets better reception than my old samsung w/ sprint in los angeles. I think it was a problem with my phone, since everyone else i knew who had sprint seemed to be fine...

I got it w/T-Mobile. Had it for about a week. Been decent enough coverage so far (I think I dropped one call, and that was when I went too far into a building I think), and I love the phone itself.

I'll throw in the dissenting opinion.. I had a Nokia 8260 that was on it's last legs (cell phones shouldn't rattle!). I went down to the store and picked up a V60. Looked pretty cool, had some great features and I was pretty impressed with it in the store, and bought it.

A week later, back it went. The battery life was about half that of my Nokia, the menu system was terrible and difficult to deal with (probably just me, however), and I hated the design. The flip kept popping open, the antenna kept jabbing me in the side, and the Motorolla cover was pitiful - When I opened the phone to make a call, the cover *blocked* the speaker.

It did have a few cool features, however- Voice activiated dialing is pretty sweet.

I've had about four Nokias, so I guess I'm just used to their system and their phones. The Motorolla just didn't live up to my expectation and I bought another 8260. Just make sure it's returnable - DON'T buy it at Amazon. You can usually get equally-good deals at a local shop, especially if you bring them the amazon deal and ask them to match it.

I have one of the Motorola V60 compact models, and I love it. The first few weeks with it are pretty brutal as it's far too stiff on the flip, but once you work it in a bit it's a beuatifal phone. Not only is it esthetically pleasing, but it's also very compact, and the phone end sound quality is very crisp and clear (although you do need to have a good service provider to get best resulsts of course).

i have one and i don't like it much

here are my problems:
1. the reception on the phone isn't as good as the nokia phones
2. you can't really operate it with one hand, well i guess once it's opened, you can
3. lcd display sometimes doesn't appear when you flip the phone open
4. just recently, a rather loud buzzing noise occurs whenever the lcd backlight is on

i've had the phone for less than 3 months, i've never dropped it or abused it in any way. i'll be taking it in for warrenty but i'm not so sure i'll want to use it again, i've got a decent replacement for it now. i'd love to get one of those colod lcd phones though.

The V60 gets all the love on Epinions.

I'm going to replace my Verizon LG-TM510 with a V60i pretty soon, because of its improved usability over the LG, its more compact size, and it's finally a down to a semi-reasonable price.

I'm staying with Verizon Single-Rate Midwest though. I don't give a fsck about GSM, TDMA, or CDMA, only that my phone can make make that call from where I'm standing, and I ain't gonna fix what ain't broken.
