Anyone have one of those Braun shavers?

I've been using a Mach 3 for the past couple years, but it takes too long, and I'm just way too lazy every morning to shave. It cuts nice, but I'd actually like it to be a little smoother.

The Braun self-cleaning shavers look pretty nice, but has anyone here used one? The cartridges seem kinda expensive, but blades for the Mach 3 aren't cheap either. Plus, if it's fast, easy, and cuts smooth, I'd def. spend money on it.

I'm looking at the 7526 model, specifically.

You are not going to get as smooth a shave with an electric as you do with a Mach 3.

I have one of the self cleaning brauns -- I do like it, get the cartridges in bulk online.

Great. From what I'm hearing so far, I'm gonna go ahead and purchase one tonight online.

They are decent. It shaves differently than manual blades. For me, my skin was irritated by the electric shavers, so i switched back to the M3power.

i bought mine from costco. It?s a model number 87xx. i remember seeing at amazon two 85xx shavers but costco had a higher number at about the same price. it doesn't have the lcd display tho but it did come with a replacement blade which cost about $30 according to amazon. After about 2 months the original cart still shows ?full?. I clean it every 2 or 3 days when it detect a ?normal? cleaning. It did detect an ?intense? cleaning one time for no particular reason.

yeah, I've got one, it's a good shave for an electric, and the self-cleaning system really does work. Good razer.

I do show stubble by 3 or so, when I wouldn't if I were to shave with a normal razer.

I have one of these and I like it. However, there is one caveat: It does not shave well at all when there's a lot of moisture in the air (i.e. right after a shower). Even if there's just high humidity it doesn't shave as well either. I live in SoCal, so this usually isn't an issue, but the two weeks before last had been humid and I wasn't too happy with the shaver.

Do you consistently try to be a douchebag on purpose just because I'm 16? Get a life.

I probably have more facial hair then you anyways, and yes, I started shaving when I was 14. Deal with it.

Hm, that seems okay, since I'd shave before my shower anyways since it's electric. With my Mach 3, I shave after my shower, but it doesn't make much of a difference to me. Thanks for the heads-up, though!

i think the manual recommend you save before shower or washing your face. thats what i do in the morning and it works great. much better and closer shave that my norelco.

Shave dry with an electric. I use the new Panasonic one and it shaves really well, lasts longer than a Mach 3 shave.

I have one... model 7526 maybe? I can't remember without going to look at it. :p

I love it, and it is INFINITELY better than any of the rotary models I've tried. Cleaning is, of course, a breeze. Just drop it into the base, and lower the lock.

That said, mrkun is correct in saying that it's not great in humidity at all -- I've had relatively crappy shaves the last couple of weeks because my family insists on keeping the window in the bathroom open in the summer. In Ohio. When the humidity is something like 90%.

How about other foil shavers? I'm a little hesitant to drop $130 on a shaver only to have it irritate my skin as badly as my Norelco rotary.

IMHO *any* foil shaver will be better than a Norelco rotary. My rotary destroyed my skin... and now my neck feels awesome, because the foil shaver doesn't. :D

Are those Norelcos the same as the Philips models? I find the Philips ones also destroy my skin, though my skin does tend to be overly sensitive.

I also noticed about the Brauns that they have a maximum 50 minutes cordless shave time. One of the reasons I love my Philips is because of the 120 minute cordless shave time.

I have one and it's great. The self-cleaning feature is money, but over time, I've come to hate electrical shavers in general. Gogo mach3!

I've had the 7526 for at least 3 years now. Works great, although I think my blade is starting to get a bit dull. And like others have said, the shave sucks when there's moisture / humidity present. The self-cleaning process is kind of loud too, but that doesn't bother me too much.

All the comments are great guys, really appreciate it. Based on what people are saying here, I'm gonna go for it. If it doesn't work well, return policy, FTW.

BTW, dartworth, you've yet to reply to any response I've ever made to a comment you made in one of my threads. If you have nothing to add, don't comment at all.

Dude they have had the 8000 series out for a while now which has an improved foil design. I would want to get that one, I have a 7000 series and it is good, but ti does not shave that close.

They also just came with a new model in the 8000 series which has an improved blade and a "flat hair lifter" too. Might wan to check out their site.

Mine needs a foil and blade soon, what I want to try is to see if the parts from the 8000 series will fit on it for improved performance, because like I said, it does not shave too close and irritaes my neck sometimes, however I do have sensitive skin, so this may not be a problem for others.
