I'm not figuring out the correct procedure to try and rma two combo drives I have that were DOA (though it was several months before I first tested the drives, that was my mistake). I tried the phone number on their website and talked to a woman who obviously has zero technical skills & zero knowledge of Lite-On products. For instance, trying to state the model number over the phone, one letter came across unclear. You'd think if she was off by one letter, she'd still be able to recognize their own part numbers! Instead we went through a lengthy repetition of each letter & number before she could get her computer to respond back acknowledging a valid model number... The model is LTC-48161H, there isn't even another product they have with a close number.

Yeah, the phone conversation only got worse from there, and I should get a call back from second level support in 4 to 8 business days...

try sending it back to the company you bought it off.

Depending on the country you are in, as a consumer, you have statutory rights which mean that the seller is liable, not necessarily the manufacturer.
Also, if the drive is say 8 months old, if you send the drive back and it is found to be faulty - chances are they will give you a better drive as that model may not be available

I've never had to RMA a lite-on drive (even though I've bought literally hundreds for home and work)

I would suggest contacting the retailer
