Holy moly i hate the water where im at, i dont drink it at all not even in my coffee.
but its killing me, it dries out my skin so bad like a sun burn would.
it makes my hair really course like and anywhere i have hair on myself it irritates my skin.
i cant be the only person who suffers from this. is there something other than lotion i can do to combat this?

There's only one viable option: suicide.

wont help
as i lay there passed out they throw glasses of water on me to awaken me thinking im only drunk.

My water is horribly hard - straight from a well in Indiana. It really doesn't bother me. I'll get a water softener but only to keep my plumbing and laundry from wearing out prematurely.

I thought it was pretty common to have a water softener. I live in the city, and I know that when I changed out my last water heater, it had about 5 gallons of sediment in it from the previous owner not using salt in the softener.

i really cant get a water softener, im in a trailor. is there any temporary things i can do?
a water softener is those salt pellets? could i some how just put them in the bathtub and bath instead of shower?

You can easily put a water softener in a trailor. I've seen it done many times.

I guess having equity in something is better then renting.

You can get a whole house filter that will soften the water somewhat (it will just remove the minerals that makes it hard), but it is not any easier than installing a softener IMO.

You can also get under the counter filters for your kitchen.

Get some Olay shower gel with shea butter - white bottle, yellow lid. It really softens your skin, and doesn't leave a flowery scent behind.

i am only concerned about the shower and if there is something i can get to make it better. i was thinking like hook up a hose to the shower head that goes to a container filled with the salt pellets first?
i dont really know how a water softener works though.
im looking for a temporary solution

we have a lot of soda/calcium carbonate in our water, it tastes ok, but the water heater gets full of white stuff and has to be flushed yearly

same. i used to have to deal with that when i lived out in the country in ohio.
id rather have sulfur smell then deal with plain hard water. that stuff is harsh.

Hard in the context you are using no.
However, outside, there is water in the solid form. It is rather hard. So, technically, yes, I do have some hard water. It's called ice 🙂

The salt isn't what "softens" the water. The salt is what cleans the filtering agent in the softener system. You may be able to find a "cheap" little in-line system for your shower, but you will probably have to change the filter quite often depending on how bad your water is. How about something like this:

I mean really, if you're only there a few more months, how much do you wanna spend on this project?
