Anyone have experience with Windows 8.1 and corporate networks?

Our sys admin is under the impression that my Yoga Pro 2 with Windows 8.1 cannot connect to the corporate network. Of course I can get an internet connection no problem, however network sharing like shared drives and printers is not working.

Has anyone ran into anything similar? Any hints on where to start?

It really shouldn't be any different from any other device on the network. Connect to the network resources using proper credentials just as you would with a regular desktop/laptop computer.

Using a device on a network that's not bound to the AD domain is a bit of a PITA. But it's totally doable.

You should be able to mount local file servers as mapped drives using the "use other credentials" checkbox with your network login.
