Anyone have experience with the Belkin pre-N router?

Hi - does anyone have experience with the new Belkin pre-N wireless router setup? I'm currently usinf the DLink 108mbps Super G setup, but I also have it configured with an additional wireless AP (to repeat the signal), the Hawking omni-directional antenna, and the Hawking wireless signal booster. Was wondering if the Pre-n router would help me get rid of all this extra stuff.

How far are you sending the signal?
Last time I checked into pre-N stuff it was stuff that might not be upgradable to the standard when it comes out.

Not that far....it's a two floor home and back yard, so maybe 40 feet indoors (tops), 75 feet outdoors.

40 feet? ANy old G router should be able to do that? Of course you have DLink which is not the best quality equipment...

I have a NetGear MR814 (B only, it's old) and it covers my entire house all by itself. No extenders or anything else needed. I'd look into why your current router isn't working well and just get a LinkSys WRT54G or whatever it is and try that instead.

Main thing is to locate the router in a central location to everywhere you want the signal to cover. Don't put it in a room that's in a corner of the house and wonder why the range doesn't reach to the opposite far end....

It all depends on the environment, taking into consideration your description, I doubt that one pre-802.11n unit will do.

I don't own this router, but from what I've read, you get a great increase in range if you using Pre-N on both ends.

One guy said he was able to walk a block and a half away from his house before he lost his connection, with Pre-N on both ends. To me though that seems like overkill. It would seem like this will cause all the more congestion on 2.4ghz if a neighborhood switched to Pre-N and everyone is overlapping each others signals. I also don't understand why anyone would want to use their computer outside their house(from some messages I have read).

Its also very expensive. Dlink, Netgear and Linksys are coming out with their versions soon also.

EDIT: I see Compusa is currently selling the Dlink 624M (MIMO) for $149.
